How to take basic measurements:
It should be measured through the protruding areas of the chest and back (touching the shoulder blades). The tailor's meter is not recommended to be excessively tightened or relaxed, keep it close to the body, passing through both extreme points of the mammary glands.
- Arm length. It is necessary to measure from the point on the shoulder where the sleeve of the garment begins to the elbow, and then from the elbow to the bone on the wrist;
- The circumference of the biceps. You need to ask a person to bend his arm at the elbow and strain it – the biceps will stand out, which need to be measured in circumference. It is suitable for tight sleeves, especially if the fabric does not stretch well. The second measurement is to measure the hands in a relaxed state;
- Leg length. It is measured from the perineum to the ankle bone. The external length is measured from the side of the protruding femur to the outer bone of the ankle;
- The width of the back is measured at the height of the shoulder blades;
- The chest width is measured above the chest from one armpit to the other;
- The circumference of the neck is measured directly above the jugular fossa.
This parameter is measured along the natural waistline (the minimum place in terms of volume), while the tailor's meter is positioned close so that it can easily wrap around the waist. (It can also be used to record the PoG or Ct – waist circumference).
It involves measuring the bulging points of the gluteal muscles, capturing the bulge of the abdomen.
(Sat – hip circumference).
